ISO 17025 Laboratory -Microbiologist

ISO 17025 Laboratory -Microbiologist vacancy to join a leading Certification and Consulting team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological, marine, and environmental laboratory testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards, GLP guidelines, and UAE regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting laboratory accreditation, quality assurance, environmental monitoring, and scientific consulting services.

Job Responsibilities

Microbiological and Marine Analysis

• Process, analyze, and interpret laboratory samples for phytoplankton, zooplankton, Legionella, and other microbiological parameters.
• Perform bacteriological and environmental microbiology testing using approved analytical methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify, classify, and document marine microorganisms and aquatic organisms accurately.
• Conduct verification and validation studies as assigned by the Lab Manager or Section In-Charge.

Sample Collection and Field Work

• Perform environmental and marine sample collection in accordance with approved methodologies and testing protocols.
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, transportation, and storage of samples to maintain sample integrity.
• Maintain accurate sample inventory and documentation records.

Laboratory Media Preparation and Quality Control ISO 17025 Laboratory -Microbiologist

• Prepare, sterilize, and store culture media and laboratory reagents as per laboratory procedures.
• Conduct media efficacy testing, sterility checks, and standardization processes.
• Monitor contamination levels and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when required.
• Immediately report non-conforming or failed samples to the Section In-Charge.

Equipment Operation and Calibration

• Operate, maintain, and properly store laboratory and marine testing equipment.
• Perform internal calibration, verification, and routine performance checks of laboratory instruments.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly equipment inspections as assigned.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation requirements.
• Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and local government regulations in Dubai and UAE.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and quality documentation.
• Support internal audits, external audits, and accreditation processes.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, biosafety standards, and occupational health and safety compliance.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Microbiology.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in microbiology, environmental testing, or marine biology.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards, laboratory quality management systems, and GLP practices.
• Experience in Legionella testing, environmental microbiology, and marine organism identification is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE regulatory standards and certification processes is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
