A luxury hospitality organization in Dubai is looking for a Hygiene Officer to support food hygiene, food safety, and operational standards across its hospitality and food service operations. The role involves monitoring hygiene practices, identifying food safety risks, providing staff training, and ensuring compliance with applicable government and company requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily hygiene and food safety operations to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Monitor food handling, preparation, storage, and service practices to maintain high levels of food hygiene and safety.
- Advise employees and operational teams on proper food handling and hygiene practices.
- Conduct food hygiene training and orientation for new employees, trainees, and relevant operational staff.
- Identify potential food safety and hygiene risks across food production and service areas and take appropriate preventive and corrective action.
- Conduct routine hygiene inspections and follow up on identified non-conformities.
- Provide technical guidance on food product labeling and related requirements to support compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Maintain appropriate hygiene and food safety documentation, records, and reports.
- Support management in implementing food safety procedures, quality standards, and corrective actions.
- Assist management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, and coaching when required.
- Motivate and support employees in maintaining hygiene, safety, and service standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures relating to food safety, health, safety, security, and workplace conduct.
- Report maintenance requirements, accidents, injuries, food safety incidents, and unsafe working conditions to the appropriate manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance at all times.

- Protect company property, equipment, and other assets.
- Respond professionally to guest and employee service needs when required.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees and other departments.
- Support the team in achieving common operational, hygiene, and quality objectives.
- Listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns and operational issues.
- Ensure adherence to established quality, hygiene, and service expectations.
- Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Health, Culinary Arts, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in food hygiene, food safety, quality, or hospitality operations.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering, or other high-end hospitality environments is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety practices, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures.
- Knowledge of food labeling requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Strong communication, training, inspection, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary hospitality and food service teams.
- Professional appearance and a strong commitment to hygiene and safety standards.
