Industrial Chemist to join a operations in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quality testing, verification, and compliance of raw materials and finished products, particularly within lubricants, base oils, additives, and chemical formulations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product conformity, maintaining strict quality standards, and meeting client-specific requirements while adhering to company ethics and confidentiality policies.

Job Responsibilities – Industrial Chemist

  • Industrial Chemist to conduct chemical testing and analysis of raw materials, including base oils, additives, dyes, and lubricant components, using standard laboratory procedures and approved test methods.
  • Perform quality verification of finished products to ensure compliance with internal quality standards, international specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Verify that blended lubricant products meet the required physical and chemical specifications prior to approval and dispatch.

Product Conformity

  • Provide batch correction recommendations to ensure products meet defined quality parameters.
  • Adjust base oil ratios to compensate for variations in raw material properties and maintain consistency in product performance.
  • Ensure all genuine oil products strictly meet client-specific technical and quality requirements.

Raw Material Inspection

  • Inspect and verify all incoming raw materials, especially additive packages, for compliance with approved specifications.
  • Maintain and update raw material inspection records, test results, and quality logs in accordance with quality management systems.
  • Prepare and maintain base oil analysis reports and related quality documentation.

Packaging Verification

  • Inspect filled finished products, containers, and packaging materials to ensure they conform to quality, labeling, and safety standards.
  • Confirm packaging integrity and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Monitor gas cylinder inventory, track usage, and prepare requisition forms as required.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Certificates of Analysis (COA) for lubricant oils and additive packages.
  • Ensure compliance with company ethical standards, safety guidelines, and client confidentiality requirements.

Industrial Chemist Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an Industrial Chemist, Quality Control Chemist, or laboratory-based role, preferably in the lubricants or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of lubricant products, base oils, additives, and industry specifications.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques and quality control procedures
    • Strong documentation and reporting skills
    • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficiency in computer applications and laboratory data management
