Coffee speciality group in Dubai, UAE is looking for a QC Coffee Specialist who will oversee quality control processes, sensory evaluations, and roast analysis. This role requires close collaboration with the Roasting, Sourcing, and Barista teams to enhance product quality, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional coffee experiences to customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily cupping and sensory evaluations to assess coffee attributes such as aroma, flavor, body, acidity, and balance, ensuring coffee flavour product consistency.
  • Perform green coffee grading and defect analysis, approving only premium-quality beans for production.
  • Collaborate with the Roasting team to monitor and maintain roast profiles, moisture levels, and color consistency across batches.
  • Document and analyze QC data, including cupping scores, roast curves, moisture readings, and defect reports, maintaining detailed quality records.
  • Assist in developing and testing new coffee blends,like chocolate coffee, vanilla coffee, espresso seasonal offerings, and innovative profiles in collaboration with the R&D and sourcing teams.
  • Provide training and feedback to baristas and roasters on sensory evaluation, brewing precision, and quality control standards.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of all QC and cupping equipment, guaranteeing accuracy and reliability in measurements.
  • Support Barista Training Programs by conducting sessions on brewing parameters, sensory identification, and coffee quality awareness.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with company standards and international coffee grading practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Coffee Science, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in coffee quality control, sensory evaluation, and roasting operations.
  • SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) or equivalent certification in cupping, sensory, or roasting is highly desirable.
  • Strong hands-on skills in cupping, green coffee grading, roast profiling, and defect identification.
  • In-depth understanding of espresso and filter brewing methods, extraction science, and coffee machinery.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with high attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members on sensory and quality aspects.
  • Must hold a valid UAE Driving License.
