A spices manufacturing company is hiring an Executive – Quality Assurance (QA) in Ernakulam, Kerala. This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a background in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline and at least one year of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the spices or food manufacturing industry.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant hygiene, coordinating quality assurance activities, supporting audits, monitoring suppliers, and inspecting outsourced manufacturing facilities across Kerala.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor quality assurance activities across spices manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Ensure proper implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), plant hygiene requirements, and food safety procedures.
- Coordinate overall plant quality activities and support the maintenance of quality management systems.
- Monitor spices manufacturing processes and ensure that products meet applicable quality and food safety requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of domestic and export food regulations relevant to spices and food products.
- Coordinate internal, external, and customer audits and assist with audit preparation, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Evaluate suppliers and monitor the quality of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and other inputs.
- Conduct quality inspections at outsourced manufacturing units located across Kerala.
- Identify quality deviations, support root cause analysis, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Travel independently across Kerala to conduct supplier visits, inspections, and quality assessments.
Job Qualifications
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or B.Tech. in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience in quality assurance or food manufacturing; experience in the spices industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of spices, spice processing, and manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of plant hygiene, GMP, food safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with domestic and export food regulations.
- Experience in audit coordination, supplier evaluation, and quality monitoring is an advantage.
- Good Malayalam communication skills are essential.
- Candidates must be native to Kerala and preferably reside in or near Ernakulam.
- Must have a personal vehicle and be comfortable travelling independently throughout Kerala.
