A leading Luxury Hotel in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Hotel Hygiene Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate hotel hygiene and food safety operations to ensure compliance with applicable hygiene regulations, food safety requirements, and company standards.
  • Monitor food handling, preparation, storage, cooking, and service practices to identify potential hygiene and food safety risks.
  • Advise food and beverage teams on proper food handling, sanitation, personal hygiene, and food safety practices.
  • Conduct food hygiene training and induction programs for new employees, trainees, and relevant operational staff.
  • Identify key areas of risk across food production and service operations and implement appropriate preventive and corrective actions.

  • Conduct regular hygiene inspections and follow up on identified non-conformities to ensure effective corrective action.
  • Provide technical guidance on food product labeling and assist in ensuring labels meet applicable government and regulatory requirements.
  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Ensure employees consistently follow established quality, hygiene, health, safety, and security standards.
  • Report maintenance requirements, accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and other safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications and promote a strong food safety and hygiene culture within the hotel.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance at all times.
  • Protect confidential and proprietary company information and ensure company assets are handled responsibly.
  • Respond professionally to guest service needs and communicate clearly with guests, colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees and support teams in achieving common operational goals.
  • Listen to and appropriately respond to employee concerns while maintaining professional standards.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality expectations, operational procedures, and service standards.
  • Perform duties that require standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching overhead and below the knees, pulling, pushing, and stooping for extended periods.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (approximately 11 kg) without assistance, where required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Environmental Health, Culinary Arts, Food Safety, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in hotel hygiene, food safety, environmental health, quality assurance, or a related hospitality operation.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, food safety practices, sanitation, food handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to conduct food hygiene training and communicate technical requirements effectively to operational teams.
  • Good inspection, risk identification, problem-solving, and corrective-action skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
