Food Safety Officer – Food & Beverage Operations to oversee end-to-end operational excellence across multiple restaurants, kiosks, and food service outlets in Chennai, India. The ideal candidate will ensure strict compliance with food safety standards, hygiene protocols, quality control systems, and operational efficiency, while driving profitability and consistent guest satisfaction.

This role is critical in maintaining high standards across all F&B outlets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting smooth day-to-day restaurant operations through strong leadership and hands-on operational management.

Job Responsibilities

1. Multi-Outlet Restaurant Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage daily operations across multiple restaurants, kiosks, and food outlets.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen, service, and front-of-house teams.
  • Monitor overall outlet performance including sales, service quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure each outlet consistently meets defined business targets and operational KPIs.

2. Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance Management

  • Implement and strictly enforce food safety standards, HACCP principles, and hygiene protocols across all outlets.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with internal SOPs and statutory food safety regulations.
  • Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, storage practices, and food handling procedures.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly in case of deviations or non-compliance.

3. Quality Control & Product Consistency

  • Conduct routine quality checks to ensure consistency in food preparation, taste, portioning, and presentation.
  • Work closely with kitchen teams to maintain standardized recipes and preparation methods.
  • Monitor customer feedback related to food quality and take corrective action where required.
  • Support continuous improvement in product quality and service delivery standards.

4. Manpower Planning & Team Management

  • Handle workforce planning, staff scheduling, and deployment across outlets.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of F&B staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching for skill development.
  • Promote a strong culture of discipline, teamwork, and customer service excellence.

5. Inventory, Procurement & Cost Control

  • Monitor inventory levels, stock rotation, and procurement processes across outlets.
  • Ensure effective wastage control and cost optimization strategies are in place.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality procurement of raw materials.
  • Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.

6. Menu Support & Product Development

  • Collaborate with culinary teams for menu planning, updates, and product innovation.
  • Support testing and implementation of new dishes and seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure all menu items meet quality, safety, and profitability standards.

7. Customer Experience & Feedback Management

  • Build strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Actively monitor and resolve customer complaints and feedback in a professional manner.
  • Implement service improvements based on customer insights and operational observations.

8. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify operational gaps and implement best practices across all F&B outlets.
  • Standardize processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and service quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall business performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Food Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in multi-outlet restaurant operations or food & beverage chain management.
  • Strong expertise in food safety management systems, hygiene standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities in a fast-paced F&B environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, procurement, and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Male candidates preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple outlets simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel across outlets within the assigned region (Chennai).
