A Hospitality & Restaurants Group wanted a Food Quality Executive for their Chennai Location to support food safety, quality assurance, hygiene, and compliance across kitchen operations in Chennai. The role involves monitoring food safety standards, conducting internal audits, training kitchen teams, evaluating raw materials, handling customer complaints, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in food quality assurance, food safety, FSSAI regulations, RCA, CAPA, and kitchen hygiene, along with strong communication and analytical skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and continuously maintain food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across kitchen operations.
  • Conduct routine quality and hygiene inspections and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Train kitchen staff on SOPs, food safety procedures, hygiene practices, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain kitchens for compliance with FSSAI requirements and internal audit standards.
  • Inspect and monitor the quality of incoming raw materials and finished products through sensory evaluation and appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain quality, food safety, inspection, and training records.
  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on identified non-conformities.
  • Handle customer complaints by conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and developing appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor CAPA implementation and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Analyze regional quality and food safety data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food quality, hygiene, and operational compliance.
  • Travel locally between different kitchen locations as required.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of food safety, food quality, hygiene, RCA, CAPA, and quality management practices.
  • Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations applicable to food service and catering operations.
  • Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety controls.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and staff training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare reports, analyze quality data, and present findings.
  • Willingness to travel across multiple kitchen locations within the city.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within the food industry.
  • Experience in food safety, quality, hygiene, or food service operations is preferred.
  • Candidate must have a two-wheeler and be willing to travel between kitchen locations.
  • Candidates should have relevant experience in the food industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.
  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant food safety or quality certifications will be an added advantage.
