A leading Food Delivery Retail industry is looking for a Quality Control Coordinator in Dubai, UAE. Quality Control Coordinator with hands-on experience in butchery and fresh food handling to ensure high standards of product quality, freshness, food safety, and compliance across our retail grocery distribution operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the quality of meat and grocery products from supplier intake to warehouse storage and final dispatch to retail stores. This role plays a critical part in maintaining food safety standards, cold chain integrity, stock accuracy, and third-party logistics compliance within the distribution center.

The Quality Control Coordinator will work closely with warehouse teams, suppliers, logistics partners, and the commercial department to ensure that all products meet predefined quality assurance standards and company food safety policies.

Job Responsibilities

Product Quality & Freshness Control

  • Monitor and oversee the quality, freshness, and food safety of products, particularly meat and butchery items, as they move from suppliers through the distribution center to retail stores.
  • Conduct quality inspections of inbound and outbound products to ensure they meet predefined company standards and food safety regulations.
  • Inspect adequate product samples from shipments to verify appearance, temperature, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and shelf life.
  • Ensure the cold chain and storage conditions for perishable products such as meat, poultry, and chilled grocery items are maintained.

Warehouse Quality Monitoring

  • Perform regular quality checks on ready-to-ship orders to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Monitor warehouse handling practices, storage conditions, and stock management processes to maintain product integrity.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance procedures for inbound, storage, handling, and outbound logistics activities.

Supplier & Third-Party Compliance

  • Ensure third-party logistics providers and warehouse staff comply with company policies and quality procedures related to stock management and product handling.
  • Conduct periodic audits and assessments of third-party warehouse operations to verify compliance with food safety and operational standards.
  • Identify quality issues and work with management to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Communication & Reporting

  • Coordinate with the commercial and procurement teams regarding the quality status of products received from suppliers.
  • Prepare technical and operational reports related to warehouse quality inspections, product compliance, and operational performance.
  • Report and escalate major quality or operational issues to Inventory Control (IC) management promptly to prevent product losses or customer complaints.

Inventory Control & Stock Verification

  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory verification activities to ensure stock accuracy and traceability.
  • Monitor stock conditions and identify damaged, expired, or non-conforming products.
  • Support warehouse teams in maintaining proper documentation and traceability records.

Process Improvement & Training

  • Evaluate current warehouse practices and recommend improvements in quality control processes and operational efficiency.
  • Identify training needs for third-party warehouse staff regarding product handling, hygiene, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Assess and review the implementation of company quality policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in FMCG retail, grocery distribution, or food supply chain operations.
  • Hands-on experience in butchery or fresh meat quality control is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, product quality standards, and cold chain management.
  • Experience working in retail distribution centers or warehouse operations is highly desirable.

Food Quality Controller Skills

  • Strong quality inspection and product evaluation skills
  • Knowledge of FMCG retail operations and grocery supply chain
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze quality data and prepare reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse reporting systems
  • Strong English language communication skills
