Job Responsibilities
As a Junior Microbiologist, you will be responsible for supporting routine and advanced microbiological testing activities, including:
- Performing microbiological analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Conducting sample preparation, culturing, and microbial enumeration tests
- Assisting in pathogen detection and contamination assessment studies
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Supporting internal quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
- Ensuring strict adherence to laboratory safety, hygiene, and biosafety protocols
- Calibrating and maintaining basic laboratory equipment under supervision
- Assisting senior microbiologists in method validation and reporting activities
Job Qualifications
- Master’s Degree (MSc) in Microbiology or related biological sciences
- 1–2 years of experience in a commercial or accredited laboratory environment
- Familiarity with microbiological testing methods and laboratory instrumentation
- Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance-driven environment
- Good communication and documentation skills
