QC In-Charge hiring for our food production facility in Thrissur, Kerala. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong expertise in food quality assurance, food safety systems, regulatory compliance, and production quality control.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in chapathi, porota, idly-dosa batter, bakery, or other food processing industries and possess strong leadership skills to manage quality operations while ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all quality control activities for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished food products.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GHP (Good Hygiene Practices), HACCP, FSSAI regulations, and other applicable food safety standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate critical quality parameters including pH, moisture, texture, product weight, appearance, consistency, and shelf life.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production, packaging, warehousing, and storage areas to ensure hygiene and quality compliance.
  • Investigate quality deviations, identify root causes, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain and review quality documentation including SOPs, batch manufacturing records, inspection reports, quality logs, and testing records.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train Quality Control staff on food safety, hygiene practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle customer complaints, product quality investigations, non-conformance reports, and product recall procedures when required.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections while ensuring continuous audit readiness.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure laboratory testing and quality verification activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in:
    • Food Technology
    • Food Science
    • Microbiology
    • Biotechnology
    • Agriculture
    • Or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in Quality Control within the chapathi, porota, idly-dosa batter, bakery, frozen foods, or food processing industry.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI regulations, quality management systems, and food safety standards.
  • Experience in production process monitoring, quality inspections, documentation, and compliance management.
  • Ability to analyze quality issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Strong leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting food safety audits and maintaining regulatory compliance is highly preferred.

Salary

₹3.5 Lakhs – ₹6.5 Lakhs per annum
