A leading Bakery and bake products is hiring an experienced Quality Controller for its Sharjah branch. This is an excellent opportunity for food quality professionals with experience in bakery manufacturing, food safety, and quality assurance to join a well-established bakery in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will ensure that bakery products consistently meet the highest standards of quality, food safety, and hygiene while complying with UAE food regulations and international food safety standards.
Bakery & Food Manufacturing
Job Responsibilities
Quality Control
- Inspect incoming raw materials and verify compliance with quality specifications.
- Monitor bakery production processes to ensure product consistency.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products before dispatch.
- Verify product specifications including taste, texture, appearance, weight, and packaging.
- Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food safety management systems.
- Monitor employee hygiene practices and PPE compliance.
- Conduct routine hygiene inspections in production and storage areas.
- Verify cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Monitor storage temperatures and product shelf-life requirements.
Documentation
- Maintain quality inspection reports and production records.
- Complete daily quality monitoring logs and checklists.
- Record non-conformities and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Prepare quality reports for management review.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE food safety regulations and municipality requirements.
- Assist during food safety and municipality inspections.
- Verify product labeling, batch coding, and expiry date compliance.
Training & Food Safety Culture
- Train production staff on quality standards, hygiene, and food safety practices.
- Conduct refresher training and toolbox talks.
- Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the organization.
Continuous Improvement
- Investigate customer complaints related to product quality.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce waste and improve product consistency.
- Support internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
- HACCP Certification (preferred).
- Food Safety Level 2 or Level 3 Certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 22000, GMP, GHP, and HACCP principles.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control within a bakery, food manufacturing, or FMCG environment.
- Experience with bakery products including bread, cakes, pastries, and confectionery is preferred.
- Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations is an added advantage.
