A Seafood factory is hiring a QC Executive for Kochi, Kerala, with the following: Food Technology education-

Responsibilities

  • Head the Quality Control function across the factory and warehouse.
  • Serve as the final authority for quality clearance of seafood products before dispatch.
  • Monitor and verify daily cleaning and sanitation activities.
  • Enforce hygiene protocols including PPE usage, sanitization, and safe product handling.
  • Inspect incoming seafood for freshness, grading, and compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor cutting processes to verify yield and maximize flesh recovery.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature control, safe handling, and inventory hygiene).
  • Supervise packing and packaging processes, ensuring sealing, labeling, portioning, weight accuracy, presentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise cutting and cleaning staff to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Conduct training sessions on hygiene, food handling, and packaging practices.
  • Maintain accurate QC records including quality checklists, cleaning logs, yield reports, and packaging QC reports.
  • Provide daily updates, reports, and improvement suggestions to the Operations Head.
  • Detect and address any non-compliance, product defects, or quality deviations.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Head and Procurement team to resolve quality-related concerns.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Food Technology, Fisheries, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Experience: 6 months – 1 year in seafood/meat processing, food handling, or Quality Control (apprenticeship/internship acceptable).
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to enforce packaging standards, keen observation, and leadership qualities to guide a small team.
