Seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to join a leading FMCG & Beverage manufacturing operations team in Al Ain, UAE. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in food manufacturing sanitation, hygiene management, GMP compliance, and food safety systems.

As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and regulatory compliance across production, processing, packaging, storage, and utility areas. You will lead sanitation teams, monitor cleaning and disinfection programs, and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and hygienic manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

Sanitation Operations Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation and cleaning activities across manufacturing facilities, processing lines, warehouses, and employee welfare areas.
  • Ensure effective implementation of sanitation schedules, cleaning procedures, and hygiene programs.
  • Monitor sanitation activities to ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify proper cleaning and sanitization of production equipment, processing lines, utensils, and facility infrastructure.

Food Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP principles, and company quality policies.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of food safety management systems.
  • Monitor sanitation effectiveness through inspections, audits, and verification activities.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and internal food safety standards.

Inspection and Documentation

  • Conduct routine sanitation inspections and hygiene audits throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records, cleaning logs, verification reports, and corrective action documentation.
  • Track sanitation KPIs and generate reports for management review.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

Team Leadership and Training

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise sanitation staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide training on sanitation procedures, personal hygiene practices, cleaning chemical handling, GMP requirements, and food safety awareness.
  • Monitor employee performance and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, hygiene excellence, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate sanitation activities to minimize production downtime while ensuring effective cleaning outcomes.
  • Support preventive maintenance and equipment cleaning validation activities.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve sanitation efficiency, effectiveness, and resource utilization.
  • Support implementation of best practices in cleaning and sanitation management.
  • Assist in developing and updating sanitation SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing contamination risks and enhancing overall plant hygiene standards.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in sanitation supervision, hygiene management, food manufacturing, beverage production, FMCG operations, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)
    • HACCP Principles
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Good Hygiene Practices (GHP)
    • Cleaning and Sanitization Procedures
    • Environmental Monitoring Programs
    • Regulatory Compliance Requirements
  • Experience working within food processing, beverage manufacturing, dairy, juice, FMCG, or related production environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with sanitation management software and operational reporting systems is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.

Sanitation – Hygiene Supervisor – Skills

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and sanitation validation techniques.
  • Experience supporting FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, BRCGS, or other food safety certification systems.
  • Understanding of microbiological control measures and contamination prevention strategies.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
