A leading retail Hypermarket brand is currently hiring a QHSE Officer – Food Safety for its hypermarket operations in Ajman, UAE.This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in food safety, hygiene compliance, HACCP systems, and retail food operations, looking to grow within the UAE’s fast-paced FMCG and retail sector.
Job Responsibilities
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with UAE food safety regulations, municipality guidelines, and internal QHSE policies
- Implement and monitor HACCP-based food safety management systems across all departments
- Conduct regular food safety inspections, hygiene audits, and risk assessments.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Monitor product quality, storage conditions, and handling practices within the hypermarket
- Verify compliance of suppliers and incoming food products with safety standards
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and traceability
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce workplace safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers
- Identify hazards, report incidents, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support emergency preparedness and safety training initiatives
Training & Awareness
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions for staff
- Promote awareness of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation standards
- Ensure all employees follow proper food handling and personal hygiene practices
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
- 1–2 years of experience in food safety, QHSE, or quality control within hypermarkets, supermarkets, or catering
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and UAE food safety regulations
- Certification in HACCP and PIC (Person-in-Charge) is highly preferred
- Excellent communication, reporting, and audit skills
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
