A leading Food Brands in Umm Al Quain is looking for QC Officer to join the Quality & Food Safety team in Umm Al Qaiwain. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring raw materials, production processes, finished products, hygiene practices, food safety controls, and quality documentation to ensure compliance with established food safety and quality standards.

The role involves working closely with production and quality teams to identify quality risks, manage non-conformities, maintain traceability, and support food safety and regulatory audits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect and evaluate incoming raw materials, nuts, spices, ingredients, and packaging materials against approved specifications.
  • Review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) and supplier documentation.
  • Monitor key quality parameters such as moisture, aflatoxin, microbiological results, physical characteristics, and other applicable specifications.
  • Conduct sampling and inspection of raw materials and finished products according to approved procedures.
  • Monitor production activities including sorting, roasting, seasoning, blending, processing, and packing.
  • Ensure production processes comply with established GMP, GHP, HACCP, and food safety procedures.
  • Perform regular hygiene and sanitation inspections across production and storage areas.
  • Monitor allergen control, pest control, personal hygiene, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention practices.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and verify that products meet defined specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for appearance, quality, weight, packaging integrity, labelling, coding, batch information, and shelf-life requirements.
  • Verify product weights and ensure compliance with approved specifications and applicable requirements.

  • Identify, document, and investigate non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues.
  • Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in product release decisions based on quality and food safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate QC inspection records, laboratory reports, production monitoring records, and food safety documentation.
  • Ensure proper batch traceability and documentation throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate with laboratories and relevant departments for required microbiological, chemical, and other quality testing.
  • Monitor environmental and product testing programs as required.
  • Support internal inspections, supplier evaluations, customer audits, and food safety audits.
  • Assist with compliance related to UAE food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Report quality and food safety concerns promptly to the Quality Manager or relevant management team.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing quality defects, complaints, waste, and food safety risks.

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, quality control, or food safety within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in nuts, spices, dry foods, snacks, ingredients, or similar food processing operations is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food hygiene principles.
  • Knowledge of ISO 22000 and/or FSSC 22000 food safety management systems.
  • Understanding of microbiological, chemical, and physical quality testing requirements.
  • Familiarity with aflatoxin, moisture analysis, allergen management, contamination control, and product traceability.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing quality documentation and inspection procedures.
  • Understanding of non-conformance management, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with production, warehouse, laboratory, and quality teams.
