Biotechnologist – Lab Technician wanted at Dubai, for a leading Biotech Industries to join its fast-paced and dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biotechnology laboratory practices, sample handling, laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, and scientific documentation.
Job Responsibilities – Biotechnologist
- Collect, receive, label, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.
- Design and conduct laboratory tests in accordance with established standard operating procedures and testing protocols.
- Record experimental observations, test results, and laboratory data accurately in both written and electronic formats.
- Interpret laboratory findings and report results accurately to support research and applied science activities.
- Handle, organize, and store chemicals, laboratory fluids, compressed gases, and other materials in accordance with laboratory safety requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with laboratory health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain daily laboratory logs, equipment records, calibration records, and other required documentation.
- Clean, sterilize, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment as required.
- Identify equipment or testing issues and report them promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and assist with ordering materials and consumables when required.
- Provide technical and laboratory support to the R&D team and other relevant departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory working environment.
- Follow established quality control and laboratory procedures to ensure reliability and accuracy of testing.
- Stay updated on relevant biotechnology, laboratory, scientific, and technical developments.
- Support research projects, experimental activities, and other laboratory-related assignments as required.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology – Mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Proven hands-on experience in laboratory operations and testing procedures.
- Strong technical knowledge of laboratory equipment, instruments, and standard testing procedures.
- Good understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, sterilization, and safe working practices.
- Ability to accurately maintain laboratory records and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample handling and data recording.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within an R&D team.
- Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work weekends on a rotational basis.
- Must be willing to work in person in Dubai and reliably commute or relocate before joining.
