Job Responsibilities
- Inspect, sample, and evaluate incoming raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process materials, and finished products according to approved quality specifications.
- Conduct routine physical, chemical, microbiological, and other applicable quality checks and tests using established procedures and approved methods.
- Monitor production and handling activities to ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, food safety, and product specifications.
- Verify that raw materials and finished products meet defined standards before they are released for production, storage, or dispatch.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HACCP and food safety procedures across production and warehouse operations.
- Check critical control points and other relevant process controls and report deviations promptly to the responsible personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of sampling, inspections, test results, product checks, non-conformities, corrective actions, and other QC activities.
- Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and non-conforming products and assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor product handling, storage conditions, hygiene practices, pest-control requirements, and housekeeping standards where applicable.
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, labeling, batch coding, and documentation of products and materials.
- Assist with internal inspections, supplier evaluations, customer requirements, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and other quality-related assessments.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, purchasing, and other relevant teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Verify cleaning and sanitation activities where required and report any conditions that may affect product safety or quality.
- Assist in maintaining and updating quality control procedures, checklists, specifications, forms, and records.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and QC instruments are handled correctly, maintained in suitable condition, and used according to established procedures.
- Escalate significant quality or food safety risks immediately and ensure potentially affected products are appropriately identified and controlled.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, improving process consistency, and maintaining high product quality.
Job Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in quality control, preferably within food manufacturing, FMCG, processing, production, or a related environment.
- Practical knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, food hygiene, quality management systems, and food safety principles.
- Experience with raw material inspection, finished-product evaluation, sampling, testing, and QC documentation.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, basic analytical testing, and the proper handling of samples and testing equipment.
- Understanding of quality specifications, product traceability, batch control, non-conformance management, and corrective and preventive actions.

- Ability to identify quality and food safety risks and communicate deviations clearly to the relevant departments.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with production and warehouse teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and follow established procedures consistently.
- Candidates with experience working in a mill, processing facility, warehouse, or similar production environment will be preferred.
