Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor wanted at a leading Meat and Meat products Processing Facility in Sharjah to oversee day-to-day production activities and ensure that manufacturing operations consistently meet planned production targets, food safety requirements, quality standards, and operational efficiency objectives.

The successful candidate will supervise production teams, coordinate manpower and equipment, monitor production processes, ensure GMP and HACCP compliance, oversee sanitation activities, and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.
Job Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Supervise daily production activities across assigned production lines to ensure the right product is manufactured in the required quality, quantity, and timeframe.
- Monitor production schedules, line performance, output, downtime, wastage, and production efficiency.
- Ensure continuous and efficient workflow across production lines and coordinate activities to avoid production delays.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Monitor raw material availability and ensure timely movement of materials to production areas.
- Control and monitor the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished products on the shop floor.
- Ensure production records, batch documentation, and operational reports are completed accurately.
Manpower & Resource Management
- Allocate manpower effectively according to production requirements and line capacity.
- Manage staff attendance, absenteeism, shift allocation, and workforce requirements.
- Ensure optimal utilization of production employees, machinery, equipment, and other resources.
- Train, guide, and supervise production operators to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Identify skill gaps and support employee training and competency development.
Food Safety, Quality & GMP
- Ensure production activities comply with established GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality, and hygiene requirements.
- Conduct routine GMP inspections and identify deviations in production practices.
- Investigate production, quality, and process-related nonconformities and support the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper handling of food products to prevent contamination, cross-contamination, foreign-body risks, and other food safety hazards.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team to resolve quality issues and maintain product specifications.
- Ensure employees follow approved SOPs, work instructions, hygiene requirements, and food safety procedures.
- Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits as required.

Sanitation & Hygiene
- Oversee sanitation and hygiene activities within the production areas, facilities, and surrounding plant premises.
- Supervise sanitation personnel and ensure cleaning activities are carried out according to approved schedules, procedures, and frequencies.
- Train sanitation staff on appropriate cleaning methods, chemical handling, hygiene practices, and sanitation procedures.
- Verify the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation activities and escalate any deficiencies.
- Ensure production areas are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and food-safe condition.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate production problems, process deviations, quality issues, equipment-related problems, and other operational challenges.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Reschedule production activities, reallocate tasks, or adjust resources when necessary to minimize operational disruptions.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Recommend improvements to production facilities, equipment, processes, and operating procedures.
- Monitor production losses, waste, rework, downtime, and other key performance indicators and support improvement initiatives.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure employees use machinery, equipment, tools, and facilities safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure production activities are conducted within defined SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, equipment hazards, and other workplace risks.
- Promote a strong culture of food safety, workplace safety, hygiene, and operational discipline.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing or food production operations.
- Candidates with at least 4 years of experience in a food production environment will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and quality management practices.
- Experience supervising production teams in a food manufacturing facility.
- Good understanding of production planning, line operations, manpower allocation, sanitation, and shop-floor management.
- Ability to identify production and quality problems and implement practical corrective actions.
- Working knowledge of SAP and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Good communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and manage multiple production priorities.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and SHEQ requirements will be an advantage.
