A leading food manufacturing company in Ajman is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support laboratory analysis, food quality testing, and food safety compliance within the flour milling and commodity manufacturing sector. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in food manufacturing laboratories, wheat and flour analysis, and quality assurance operations in the UAE food industry.

The Laboratory Technician will play a critical role in ensuring that raw materials, in-process products, and finished food products consistently meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and international food safety regulations including HACCP and ISO systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine laboratory testing on wheat, flour, raw materials, and finished food products
  • Perform analytical tests including moisture analysis, ash content, protein testing, wet and dry gluten analysis, and other food quality parameters
  • Ensure all laboratory procedures and testing activities are performed according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor production samples and evaluate product consistency during various stages of manufacturing
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and quality documentation for traceability and compliance purposes.
  • Identify deviations in product quality and immediately report non-conformities to the Quality Assurance and Production teams
  • Assist in calibration, preventive maintenance, and verification of laboratory instruments and testing equipment
  • Support implementation and monitoring of food safety management systems including HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the laboratory environment in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Coordinate with production, quality control, and operations teams to investigate product inconsistencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal audits, supplier audits, and external food safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with UAE food manufacturing regulations and company quality standards
  • Assist in monitoring product specifications and ensuring consistency in flour milling and commodity manufacturing processes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory operations, food quality, and process efficiency

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field
  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience in the food manufacturing, flour milling, grain processing, or commodity manufacturing industry
  • Hands-on experience with food laboratory testing methods and analytical equipment
  • Good understanding of wheat quality analysis, flour testing, and food quality control procedures
  • Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and food safety compliance requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency including MS Excel, reporting, and documentation management
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food production environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in commodity manufacturing within the UAE
  • Minimum 1 year of UAE experience as a Laboratory Technician in the food industry
  • Experience in flour mills, grain processing plants, or food production laboratories will be an added advantage
