Food Safety & Hygiene Officer wanted at a leading Supermarket and retail company in Ajman to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and food safety management systems across food establishments and related operations. The ideal candidate should have a background in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related discipline, along with knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct routine food safety and hygiene inspections of restaurants, hotels, catering companies, food manufacturing facilities, and retail food outlets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable food safety laws, regulations, hygiene requirements, and industry standards.
- Inspect food preparation, storage, handling, transportation, and waste-disposal practices.
- Monitor compliance with temperature control, sanitation, cleaning, and personal hygiene requirements.
- Review HACCP-based food safety management systems and verify their effective implementation.
- Assess pest-control programs and verify corrective actions where required.

- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of findings and violations.
- Issue notices, warnings, or recommend enforcement actions in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Verify that corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
- Provide food safety guidance, awareness, and training to food handlers and food service staff.
- Maintain records related to inspections, investigations, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
- Keep up to date with changes in food safety legislation, regulatory requirements, HACCP principles, and industry best practices.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Food safety certification such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or another recognized food safety certification is preferred.
- Good knowledge of food safety, food hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
- Knowledge of applicable national and local food safety regulations.
- Previous experience in food inspection, food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing, hospitality, catering, or a related field is an advantage.
- Strong inspection, reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify food safety hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Preferred Candidate
Candidates with experience in food safety inspection, food hygiene, HACCP implementation, quality assurance, food manufacturing, hospitality, catering, or regulatory compliance are encouraged to apply.
