Technical Assistant – Laboratory Technician in Dubai, UAE vacancy for a biotechnology expert – responsible for performing high-quality molecular diagnostic testing while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory, quality, and accreditation standards. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques, in-depth knowledge of ISO quality systems, and full compliance with DHA regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to accurate disease detection, reliable reporting, and continuous quality improvement within the molecular diagnostics laboratory.
Job Responsibilities
Molecular Diagnostics & Testing
- Perform advanced molecular diagnostic assays, including PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, and other nucleic acid–based techniques.
- Conduct DNA and RNA extraction, sample preparation, amplification, and post-analytical result validation.
- Ensure high levels of accuracy, precision, and reproducibility in all test results.
- Interpret and review molecular data prior to final result release, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot technical, instrument, and assay-related issues to minimize downtime and errors.
- Maintain strict turnaround times while meeting clinical and operational requirements.
Quality Management & ISO Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 15189 and/or ISO 17025 quality management system requirements.
- Actively participate in internal, external, and surveillance ISO audits, including audit preparation and corrective actions.
- Prepare, review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, work instructions, and laboratory records.
- Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), non-conformance management, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, traceability, and documentation accuracy in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Laboratory Operations & Regulatory Compliance
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain molecular diagnostic instruments and laboratory equipment as per manufacturer and ISO guidelines.
- Follow DHA regulations, laboratory safety protocols, and biosafety standards at all times.
- Manage laboratory reagents, consumables, and reference materials, ensuring correct storage, labeling, and inventory control.
- Support method validation, verification, and quality control programs for new and existing molecular assays.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to junior staff and new team members as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready laboratory environment.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter (Mandatory).
- hands-on experience in a molecular diagnostics laboratory.
- Strong practical knowledge of PCR-based technologies, molecular workflows, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Proven experience working within ISO-accredited laboratories with active involvement in audits.
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary laboratory team.
