Quality Controller to join a leading healthy meal delivery company in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting food quality, monitoring temperature control, verifying packaging standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements throughout daily production operations.

Working closely with the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) team, the Quality Controller will ensure every meal meets company quality standards, customer expectations, and UAE food safety regulations before dispatch. This position serves as the final quality checkpoint between production and delivery, helping maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Food Quality & Portion Control

  • Perform visual and physical inspections of meals during and after portioning.
  • Verify portion sizes comply with approved specifications.
  • Ensure ingredient accuracy and menu consistency for each production batch.
  • Check product appearance, freshness, and presentation before packaging.
  • Verify label accuracy, production dates, allergen declarations, and menu matching.

Temperature Monitoring & Packaging Inspection

  • Monitor and record temperatures of cooked meals, chilled products, cold rooms, refrigerators, freezers, and dispatch vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with cold chain requirements throughout storage and dispatch.
  • Inspect packaging quality, seal integrity, and tamper-evident features.
  • Verify proper allergen segregation during packaging.
  • Report damaged packaging or temperature deviations immediately.

Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance

  • Monitor employee compliance with Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, gloves, hairnets, masks, and protective clothing.
  • Observe handwashing practices and personal hygiene standards.
  • Identify potential cross-contamination risks during production.
  • Report sanitation issues and hygiene violations to the Food Safety Supervisor.
  • Support implementation of prerequisite programs (PRPs) and GMP requirements.

Quality Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete daily quality inspection records and batch verification documents.
  • Maintain accurate temperature monitoring logs.
  • Record non-conformities with supporting photographs when required.
  • Prepare quality reports for management review.
  • Escalate recurring quality concerns to the Food Safety Executive or Compliance Supervisor.

Batch Release & Dispatch Verification

  • Perform final inspection of finished products before dispatch.
  • Verify batches comply with internal quality specifications.
  • Ensure dispatch vehicles meet hygiene and temperature requirements.
  • Coordinate product rework or rejection when quality standards are not achieved.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality deviations.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Candidates without a formal degree may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications and food labels.
  • Basic Food Safety Training (Mandatory).
  • 1–2 years of experience in Quality Control, Food Safety, Food Production, Catering, Central Kitchen, Healthy Meal Delivery, or Food Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of chilled food production and handling procedures.
  • Experience in chilled food production or ready-to-eat meal manufacturing is an advantage.
