Food Lab Analyst to join a leading Food and Beverages laboratory team in Dubai. UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing chemical, nutritional, and analytical testing of food products and raw materials to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, supporting food safety programs, and delivering accurate laboratory results that contribute to business excellence.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in food chemistry, analytical testing, laboratory quality systems, and the operation of advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-FID, and ICP-OES.

Job Responsibilities

Chemical and Nutritional Analysis

  • Perform chemical, physical, and nutritional analyses of food products, ingredients, packaging materials, and environmental samples according to approved laboratory methods and company standards.
  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory testing to determine product composition, nutritional values, contaminants, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze samples for parameters such as moisture, protein, fat, ash, carbohydrates, minerals, and other food quality indicators.

Laboratory Testing and Instrumentation

  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced analytical instruments including:
    • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
    • Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID)
    • Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES)
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently and perform routine performance verification checks.
  • Support method validation, verification, and continuous improvement of laboratory analytical procedures.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Accurately record analytical data, test results, observations, and laboratory activities.
  • Review and verify analytical results before reporting to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with quality control requirements.
  • Maintain complete laboratory documentation and ensure traceability of all testing activities.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sample tracking, data entry, result management, and report generation.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), laboratory safety procedures, and 5S workplace standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements and other applicable quality management systems.
  • Verify that all quality control criteria are met before releasing analytical results.
  • Participate in internal audits, external audits, accreditation assessments, and regulatory inspections.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities related to laboratory operations.

Food Safety and Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in maintaining laboratory quality systems and food safety compliance programs.
  • Investigate analytical deviations, out-of-specification results, and laboratory non-conformities.
  • Escalate technical, operational, or analytical issues to the Laboratory Supervisor promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Support training activities and knowledge sharing within the laboratory team.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Chemistry
    • Analytical Chemistry
    • Food Science
    • Biochemistry
    • Food Technology
    • Or a related scientific discipline
  • 3–5 years of practical experience in a food testing, chemical analysis, nutritional analysis, or quality control laboratory.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing, food quality assurance, food safety laboratories, or accredited testing laboratories is highly preferred.

Technical Skills – Food Lab Analsyt

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • HPLC
    • GC-FID
    • ICP-OES
    • Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation requirements.
  • Experience participating in laboratory audits and interacting with internal and external auditors.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, method validation, uncertainty calculations, and data trend analysis is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in laboratory documentation, analytical reporting, and quality management systems.
