Job Responsibilities

Food Safety & Quality Inspections

  • Conduct routine, scheduled, and risk-based Food Safety & Quality inspections across restaurants, kitchens, food production facilities, storage areas, and other operational locations.
  • Verify compliance with FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs, and applicable UAE food safety regulations.
  • Inspect food handling, preparation, cooking, cooling, reheating, storage, transportation, and serving practices.
  • Monitor compliance with food hygiene and quality standards throughout the food chain.

Hygiene & Operational Controls

  • Conduct inspections covering personal hygiene, food hygiene, cleaning and sanitation, temperature control, pest control, allergen management, food storage, cross-contamination prevention, and food handling practices.
  • Verify appropriate temperature monitoring and calibration of food safety monitoring equipment.
  • Monitor cleaning and sanitation programs and verify their effectiveness.
  • Identify potential food safety hazards and recommend appropriate preventive controls.

HACCP & Food Safety Management Systems

  • Monitor CCPs and OPRPs, verify critical limits and operational controls, and ensure required monitoring records are accurately maintained.
  • Review food safety records, checklists, temperature logs, cleaning records, pest-control reports, and other FSMS documentation.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HACCP and FSSC 22000-based food safety management systems.
  • Assist in maintaining food safety procedures, work instructions, forms, and verification records.

Non-Conformities & Corrective Actions

  • Identify, document, and communicate food safety and quality non-conformities.
  • Issue inspection reports and follow up with responsible departments on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor corrective action implementation and ensure findings are closed within agreed timelines.
  • Escalate significant or recurring food safety risks to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.

Complaints & Incident Investigation

  • Support investigations into customer complaints, food safety incidents, product quality issues, foreign-body incidents, suspected food poisoning cases, and other non-conformities.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare clear investigation reports and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and identify recurring trends.

Microbiological Testing & Verification

  • Coordinate and monitor microbiological sampling and laboratory testing for food, water, environmental swabs, and other relevant samples.
  • Review laboratory test results against applicable specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate unsatisfactory results and support investigation and corrective action processes.

Supplier & Audit Support

  • Assist with supplier evaluations, food safety audits, supplier performance monitoring, and approval activities.
  • Support internal, customer, regulatory, certification, and third-party audits.
  • Coordinate the preparation of required documents and records for audits.
  • Follow up on audit findings and verify timely closure of corrective actions.

Training & Food Safety Culture

  • Conduct food safety, hygiene, GMP, HACCP, allergen, personal hygiene, and safe food-handling training for food handlers and relevant employees.
  • Promote a strong food safety culture across restaurant and production teams.
  • Provide practical guidance to operational staff on food safety requirements and best practices.

Communication & Multi-Site Monitoring

  • Communicate food safety and quality concerns effectively with restaurant managers, kitchen teams, department heads, operational teams, and the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Prepare inspection reports, audit reports, trend summaries, and other food safety documentation as required.
  • Travel regularly between multiple Al Safadi locations to conduct inspections, verification activities, training, and corrective-action follow-ups.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Safety, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Food Safety & Quality within food manufacturing, central kitchens, catering, restaurants, hospitality, or similar food operations.
  • Strong practical knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP, PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs, food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety management systems.
  • Good understanding of UAE food safety regulations and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience conducting food safety inspections, internal audits, investigations, and corrective-action follow-ups.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety monitoring, documentation, microbiological testing, allergen control, and hygiene verification.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage food safety responsibilities across multiple locations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify food safety risks and non-conformities.
  • Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel between restaurant and production locations as required.

Preferred Skills

  • HACCP certification.
  • FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 knowledge or certification.
  • Food safety auditor or internal auditor training.
  • Experience in a multi-site restaurant, hospitality, catering, or central-kitchen environment.
  • Familiarity with UAE food safety inspection and regulatory requirements.
