The successful candidate will support the day-to-day food safety, quality assurance, documentation, product specification, data management, and facility monitoring activities. This position is ideal for a Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology, or Nutrition professional who is comfortable working with both QA documentation and hands-on food manufacturing operations.QA Associate at a bakery manufacturing facility in Dubai, UAE.

The QA Associate will work closely with the QA Manager, Production, Operations, and other relevant teams to ensure food safety requirements, quality standards, documentation, and corrective actions are consistently maintained.

Job Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Food Safety Documentation

  • Maintain and organize daily QA and food safety records, reports, checklists, forms, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of HACCP and FSSC 22000 food safety management system documentation.
  • Verify QA and food safety records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Support corrective action documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Assist the QA Manager with internal and external audit preparation.
  • Maintain proper document control, filing systems, and QA records.
  • Prepare and update routine QA reports and food safety documentation.

Product Specifications & Product Data

  • Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of product specifications.
  • Enter and maintain recipes, ingredients, nutritional information, and allergen data.
  • Use NutriCal or similar food and nutrition database software to manage product information.
  • Assist with the preparation of nutritional information, ingredient declarations, allergen statements, and product documentation required by customers.
  • Ensure product-related information is accurately recorded and updated.

Supplier & Raw Material Documentation

  • Maintain supplier documentation and raw material records.
  • Organize and monitor raw material specifications, certificates, approvals, and supporting documents.
  • Assist with supplier documentation reviews and ensure required records are available and up to date.
  • Support the QA team in maintaining appropriate supplier and ingredient documentation.

Traceability & Testing Records

  • Support product traceability and batch documentation activities.
  • Maintain records related to product shelf life and quality monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining microbiological testing records and related laboratory documentation.
  • Support the collection, organization, and review of quality and food safety data.

Food Safety & Hygiene Inspections

  • Conduct routine food safety, hygiene, and GMP/GHP inspections throughout the bakery production facility.
  • Monitor production areas, equipment, personnel practices, storage areas, and other relevant facility conditions.
  • Identify food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and operational observations.
  • Follow up with Production and Operations teams regarding identified issues.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Maintain training records and employee food safety documentation.
  • Assist with data entry, document filing, record management, and document control.
  • Prepare QA reports, checklists, and other documentation as required.
  • Support the QA Manager with daily administrative and operational food safety activities.
  • Work closely with Production and Operations teams to ensure food safety and quality requirements are followed.
  • Prioritize tasks and follow up on pending QA documentation and corrective actions.

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a bakery, food manufacturing, catering, food production, or FMCG environment is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000 is an advantage.
  • Previous experience with NutriCal or similar food/nutrition database applications is highly preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • OneDrive
    • SharePoint
  • Strong computer literacy and data-entry skills.
  • Excellent documentation, filing, and record-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable handling a significant amount of QA administrative and documentation work.
  • Willing to work hands-on within a bakery manufacturing and production environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production and Operations teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and follow up on outstanding QA requirements.
  • Candidates must be currently based in the UAE.

The ideal candidate is a food safety and quality assurance professional with a combination of strong documentation skills and practical food manufacturing experience. You should be comfortable working with HACCP and GMP requirements, maintaining QA records, preparing product specifications, managing ingredient and allergen information, and conducting routine hygiene and food safety inspections.

Experience working in a bakery or food manufacturing facility in the UAE will be an advantage.
