Online Quality Controller

Online Quality Controller wanted at a leading Food Manufacturing industry in Dubai, UAE with proven UAE experience in a Food Technology or Food Quality Control role within the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of food safety systems, quality assurance procedures, hygiene standards, and production monitoring processes to ensure the highest level of product quality and compliance.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in food quality control, HACCP implementation, GMP compliance, ISO 22000 standards, and Dubai Municipality food regulations.

Job Responsibilities – Online Quality Controller

The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining food quality, food safety compliance, hygiene standards, and operational efficiency across production and packaging processes.

Quality Inspection & Production Monitoring

  • Conduct routine quality inspections on raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished food products.
  • Perform continuous online quality monitoring during production and packing operations.
  • Verify product specifications including product weight, coding, labeling, sealing, packaging integrity, and overall product appearance.
  • Conduct hourly quality checks and document inspection findings accurately.
  • Ensure production lines comply with approved SOPs, quality procedures, and food safety standards.
  • Perform line clearance activities before production start-up and verify production readiness.

Food Safety & HACCP Compliance

  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs) according to the HACCP plan.
  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • HACCP requirements
    • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
    • ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System
    • Dubai Municipality food regulations
    • UAE Food Code standards
  • Verify allergen control measures and cross-contamination prevention practices during production.
  • Conduct metal detector verification and monitoring of food safety control devices where applicable.
  • Support traceability exercises and mock product recall activities.

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and records, including:
    • Batch manufacturing records
    • COAs (Certificates of Analysis)
    • Organoleptic test reports
    • Chemical and microbiological test results
    • Temperature monitoring logs
    • Inspection and verification records
  • Ensure all documentation is updated, organized, and audit-ready at all times.

Equipment Monitoring & Calibration

  • Operate and calibrate laboratory and QC instruments such as:
    • pH meters
    • Thermometers
    • Weighing scales
    • Viscometers
    • Temperature monitoring devices
  • Ensure all quality control equipment functions accurately and calibration records are maintained.

Hygiene & Sanitation Monitoring

  • Monitor cleaning and sanitation activities before, during, and after production operations.
  • Verify cleanliness of:
    • Production areas
    • Processing equipment
    • Machinery
    • Food contact surfaces
    • Tools and utensils
    • Delivery vehicles
  • Conduct hygiene inspections and ensure employees follow grooming and personal hygiene standards.
  • Monitor pest control programs and waste disposal activities to maintain a hygienic production environment.

Warehouse & Storage Monitoring

  • Monitor storage conditions of raw materials and finished goods in warehouses, chillers, and freezer areas.
  • Ensure proper implementation of FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) systems.
  • Ensure non-conforming materials and products are properly identified, segregated, and controlled.

Quality Issue Management

  • Identify quality deviations and non-conformities during production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to resolve quality-related issues in real time.
  • Report all quality concerns immediately to QA/QC management.

Continuous Improvement & Audits

  • Assist in product trials, shelf-life studies, validation activities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party certification audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs related to food safety and product quality.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Food Technology
    • Food Science
    • Microbiology
    • Biotechnology
    • Or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of UAE experience in:
    • Food Manufacturing
    • Quality Control
    • Quality Assurance
    • Food Hygiene
    • Food Safety
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • HACCP
    • GMP
    • ISO 22000
    • Food Safety Management Systems
    • UAE food regulations and Dubai Municipality requirements
  • Experience using laboratory and quality control equipment.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in rotational or shift timings.
  • Experience in shelf-life extension and natural food preservation techniques will be considered an added advantage.
  • Immediate joiners currently residing in the UAE are highly preferred.
