A Fresh Produce Quick Commerce Company in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Quality Controller with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality inspections on fresh produce, raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet defined specifications.
- Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and sanitation standards within production and storage areas.
- Maintain detailed and accurate QC documentation including batch records, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), inspection reports, test results, and deviation logs.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, moisture analysers, viscometers, refractometers, and other quality testing equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards including HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSAI, and local UAE regulatory guidelines (Dubai Municipality, ESMA/BIS).

- Identify and investigate quality deviations, non-conformities, or product complaints; recommend and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to maintain compliance across all product lines.
- Assist in internal and external audits conducted by regulatory authorities and third-party certification bodies.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) by conducting stability studies, shelf-life assessments, and product trials to ensure quality benchmarks are met.
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience in fresh produce quality control, quality assurance, food safety, warehouse quality management, or fruits and vegetables operations.
- Strong practical knowledge of fresh fruits and vegetables quality standards, specifications, grading parameters, handling practices, storage requirements, and shelf-life assessment.Good understanding of food safety principles, HACCP, GMP, GHP, sanitation, hygiene, and cold chain management.Familiarity with applicable food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for fresh produce operations.
- Experience identifying and evaluating fresh produce defects, quality deterioration, physical damage, contamination risks, and non-conformities.Strong understanding of warehouse receiving, inspection, storage, handling, segregation, and dispatch processes.
- Ability to assess product quality accurately and make appropriate recommendations regarding acceptance, rejection, quarantine, or escalation.Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, observation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong reporting and documentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and operational environment while managing multiple priorities.Willingness to conduct regular physical inspections within warehouse and fresh produce storage areas.Strong commitment to food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to production schedules.
- Candidates must be currently residing in the UAE.
