Food Quality Control Officer oppurtunity to join a Meat and Sausage Manufacturing Facility in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, legality, and regulatory compliance.
The Food Quality Control Officer will be responsible for monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, implementing quality assurance procedures, and ensuring compliance with international food safety standards including HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS, GMP, OHSA, and UAE Food Safety Regulations.
Proactive professional with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience in food manufacturing environments. The role involves working closely with production teams to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve product quality and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Quality Control & Product Inspection
- Conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress products, and finished goods.
- Verify that meat, poultry, seafood, and sausage products meet established quality specifications and food safety requirements.
- Monitor production processes to identify deviations and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
- Perform product sampling, testing, and analysis to maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Inspect products for appearance, texture, weight, labeling accuracy, packaging integrity, and shelf-life requirements.
- Ensure that all non-conforming products are properly identified, segregated, investigated, and documented.
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS, GMP, OHSA, and local UAE food safety regulations.
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensure effective implementation of food safety programs.
- Verify adherence to sanitation, hygiene, and pest control programs throughout the facility.
- Conduct regular food safety inspections and risk assessments within production and storage areas.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of food defense and food fraud prevention programs.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of products from raw materials to finished goods.
Audits & Documentation
- Plan, conduct, and participate in internal quality and food safety audits.
- Coordinate and support customer audits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Prepare audit reports, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, testing results, and compliance documents.
- Ensure all quality management system documentation remains current and compliant with certification requirements.
Complaint Handling & Corrective Actions
- Investigate customer complaints related to food safety, product quality, packaging defects, and product performance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and warehouse teams to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
Production Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor production efficiency, product yields, waste reduction, and process effectiveness.
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained according to company procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance product quality and operational performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on food safety, quality assurance, and productivity enhancement.
- Provide guidance and support to production staff regarding quality standards and food safety requirements.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Develop and conduct sampling and testing programs for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products.
- Review laboratory results and ensure products comply with microbiological, chemical, and physical specifications.
- Coordinate with external laboratories when required for specialized testing and product verification.
- Monitor calibration and maintenance of quality control instruments and testing equipment.
Training & Team Support
- Train production employees on quality standards, GMPs, hygiene practices, and food safety procedures.
- Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the organization.
- Motivate, guide, and support production staff to improve quality awareness and operational performance.
- Participate in food safety meetings and quality improvement projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Food Quality Control, Food Safety, or Quality Assurance within the Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Sausage, or Food Manufacturing Industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS, GMP, GHP, Food Safety Management Systems, and UAE Food Regulations.
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external certification audits.
- Familiarity with microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality management systems.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
