A Food Retail Industry in Dubai, UAE looking for Food Safety Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining food safety, hygiene, quality, and regulatory compliance across food handling, preparation, production, storage, transportation, and service operations.
The Food Safety Officer will ensure that food safety procedures comply with applicable UAE food safety regulations, Dubai Municipality or Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements, HACCP principles, ISO 22000 standards, and company food safety policies.
This position is suitable for professionals with experience in food safety, quality assurance, HACCP, food hygiene, F&B operations, hospitality, catering, restaurants, central kitchens, or food manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor food safety and hygiene practices across food preparation, production, storage, and service areas.
- Conduct regular food safety inspections, hygiene audits, and compliance checks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE food safety regulations and local municipality requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain HACCP-based food safety systems and procedures.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs), critical limits, corrective actions, and verification activities.
- Check food receiving, storage, preparation, cooking, cooling, reheating, and serving practices.
- Monitor food temperatures, cold-chain controls, storage conditions, and product shelf life.
- Inspect food premises, equipment, utensils, personal hygiene, pest-control measures, and cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Identify food safety hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain food safety records, inspection reports, checklists, temperature logs, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with internal food safety audits and support external inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Investigate food safety complaints, non-conformities, incidents, and potential contamination risks.
- Coordinate with kitchen, production, operations, QA, and management teams to resolve food safety issues.

- Conduct food safety and hygiene training for food handlers and operational employees.
- Promote good hygiene practices, GMP, personal hygiene, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety management systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of food products, ingredients, batches, and suppliers where applicable.
- Follow up on corrective actions identified during inspections and audits.
- Prepare food safety reports and communicate significant compliance issues to management.
Job Qualifications
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control.
- Experience in F&B, hospitality, catering, restaurants, central kitchens, food service, or food manufacturing.
- HACCP Level 3 or Level 4 certification – Mandatory.
- ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification – Preferred.
- Dubai Municipality / Abu Dhabi Municipality food safety training certification or equivalent – preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food hygiene, sanitation, food safety audits, and risk assessment.

- Knowledge of UAE food safety regulations and municipality requirements.
- Good understanding of food safety documentation, corrective actions, and audit procedures.
- Strong observation, inspection, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu would be an advantage.
- Valid UAE driving license may be required for candidates responsible for multi-site inspections.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including during peak production, service, or operational periods.
