Food Inspectors vacancy for the Food and Beverages Industry in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting food safety inspections, evaluating food handling practices, monitoring compliance with HACCP requirements, and ensuring adherence to local and international food safety regulations.

This role is ideal for professionals with a background in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or HACCP compliance who are passionate about protecting public health and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.

The Food Inspector will play a critical role in identifying food safety risks, conducting inspections of food establishments, collecting food samples, reviewing sanitation practices, and ensuring compliance with applicable food laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and surprise inspections of food and beverage establishments, kitchens, dining facilities, catering operations, and food production areas.
  • Evaluate food preparation, storage, transportation, and serving practices to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Monitor implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems and food safety management programs.
  • Inspect premises for cleanliness, sanitation, pest control effectiveness, and operational hygiene standards.
  • Collect food, water, and environmental samples for laboratory testing and analysis.
  • Identify potential food safety hazards, contamination risks, and quality deficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and document observations, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Verify compliance with local food regulations, international food safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to food quality, hygiene, and foodborne illness incidents.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions to improve food safety performance.
  • Review food handling procedures and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
  • Educate food handlers and staff on proper food safety procedures and hygiene requirements.
  • Support internal audits and food safety assessments across facilities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure food establishments comply with applicable public health and food safety legislation.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutrition, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in food inspection, food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing, catering, hospitality, or regulatory compliance.
  • HACCP Certification or Certified HACCP Trainer qualification is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety management systems and food quality assurance principles.
  • Understanding of food microbiology, food contamination risks, and foodborne illness prevention.
  • Knowledge of food inspection procedures and sampling techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations, public health standards, and food industry compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during inspections.
