Water Quality Controller wanted at aleading Water and Ice Processing Company in Dubai UAE with the following:

Responsibilities

  • Report FSMS Performance to Management: Prepare and submit regular reports to top management on the effectiveness, performance, and continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), ensuring it remains suitable and compliant with regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Supervise Quality Control Department Activities: Oversee the daily operations of the Quality Control (QC) department, ensuring that laboratory testing, inspections, and documentation are carried out efficiently and according to company standards.
  • HACCP Implementation and Coordination: Lead the implementation, coordination, and continuous updating of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system, ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations set by Dubai Municipality, ESMA, and relevant certification bodies.
  • Support and Participate in Food Safety Audits: Prepare documentation and actively participate in annual certification audits and surveillance audits conducted by regulatory authorities and third-party certification bodies.
  • Monitor Daily Quality Control Reports: Review daily QC reports related to water quality, microbiological analysis, and product safety to ensure consistency, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Laboratory Equipment Calibration: Schedule and monitor calibration activities for laboratory equipment and testing instruments to ensure accurate measurements and reliable laboratory results.
  • Investigate Customer Complaints: Conduct detailed investigations into customer complaints related to product quality or safety. Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure ISO and Quality Procedure Compliance: Monitor and implement ISO-based procedures across the organization, ensuring adherence to quality management standards and proper documentation practices.

  • Represent the Company in Industry Training: Attend professional seminars, training sessions, and certification exams on behalf of the organization to stay updated on food safety, water quality standards, and regulatory updates.
  • Conduct Daily Microbiological Water Testing: Perform routine microbiological analysis of raw water, treated process water (after UV treatment), and finished products. Maintain daily records for review by local regulatory authorities.
  • Perform Hygiene and Swab Analysis: Conduct microbiological swab testing of food handlers’ hands, food contact surfaces, and transportation vehicles to verify hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Reduce Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs): Monitor production activities to identify potential quality deviations and implement preventive actions to minimize non-conformance incidents.
  • Collaborate with Production Team: Work closely with the production team to investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain product safety.
  • Monitor Hygiene and Sanitation Standards: Perform daily monitoring and documentation of hygiene practices, general cleanliness, sanitation levels, and temperature control in production areas, storage facilities, factory surroundings, and transportation vehicles.
  • Maintain Food Handler Certifications: Update and renew mandatory certifications such as Occupational Health Cards (OHC) and Basic Food Hygiene Training Certificates (BFTC) for food handlers in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure HACCP-Compliant Product Distribution: Monitor product distribution practices to ensure compliance with HACCP principles and food safety standards during transportation and delivery.
  • Coordinate with External Vendors: Liaise with external suppliers and vendors regarding the procurement and supply of packaging materials such as plastic bags used in production.
  • Conduct Supplier and Internal Audits: Perform supplier audits to evaluate supplier compliance with quality standards and conduct regular internal audits to maintain food safety system effectiveness.
  • Ensure Food Safety Team Competence: Ensure that all members of the food safety team possess the required training, skills, and competencies necessary to effectively manage food safety systems.
  • Provide Quality Training to Employees: Identify training needs for employees related to quality assurance and food safety. Conduct regular training sessions and evaluate staff performance to ensure continuous improvement in quality management practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related science field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in water quality control, food manufacturing, or beverage production industries.
  • Prior experience in FMCG or packaged drinking water/ice manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), and ISO standards.
  • Experience handling Dubai Municipality regulations, ESMA requirements, and certification body audits.
  • Familiarity with microbiological testing, laboratory analysis, and water quality monitoring procedures.
  • Knowledge of PIC (Person in Charge) food safety requirements and HACCP implementation is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage audits, compliance, and quality improvement programs.
