Research Assistant – Biotechnology

Location -Abu Dhabi Field: Biotechnology
Specialisation: 5 years of post-graduation research experience

The successful candidate will play a key role in experimental design, hands-on laboratory research, data analysis, and scientific dissemination, contributing to impactful outcomes in a collaborative and innovation-driven research environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the isolation, culture, expansion, and maintenance of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs)
• Perform in vitro assays including cell viability, proliferation, phenotypic characterisation, and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
• Support musculoskeletal tissue engineering experiments, including scaffold fabrication, preparation, and evaluation of cell–biomaterial interactions
• Ensure accurate laboratory documentation, maintaining detailed experimental records in compliance with biosafety, ethical, and research governance guidelines
• Participate in data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of experimental and biological results.

• Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts, technical reports, grant documentation, and conference presentations
• Support daily biotechnology laboratory operations, including equipment handling, maintenance, reagent preparation, and inventory management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers to advance stem cell-based regenerative medicine solutions

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related discipline
  OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years post-graduation research experience

Job Qualifications

• Familiarity with laboratory biosafety standards, ethical approvals, and scientific reporting

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, or Veterinary Medicine
• At least 2 years of post-graduation Biotechnology research experience in stem cell research, regenerative medicine, or tissue engineering
• Hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, stem cell characterisation, and biomaterials research.
• Biotechnologist graduates ready to work in the UAE with research expertise are welomed to apply
