Research Assistant – Biotechnologist, Abu Dhabi, UAE vacancy.Looking for a highly skilled and motivated Research Assistant – Biotechnologist to join a leading research team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in advanced cell culture, along with a solid foundation in molecular biology techniques.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced cell culture experiments, including maintenance, passaging, cryopreservation, and viability assessments.
  • Assist in Research Assistant – Biotechnologist designing, executing, and optimizing molecular biology assays, such as PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA extraction, and cloning.
  • Support experimental studies by preparing reagents, media, buffers, and maintaining sterile laboratory conditions.
  • Perform advanced cell culture work, including cell line maintenance, passaging, seeding, thawing, cryopreservation, and monitoring cell viability and morphology.
  • Conduct aseptic techniques consistently to ensure contamination-free cell culture operations.
  • Execute a wide range of molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, and vector preparation.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing experimental protocols, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of results.
  • Prepare culture media, reagents, buffers, and consumables required for daily laboratory experiments.
  • Carry out protein-based assays, including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and ELISA, as needed.

Biotechnologist Job in UAE

  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks, documenting experimental procedures, observations, and data according to GLP standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as biosafety cabinets, CO₂ incubators, centrifuges, PCR machines, and microscopes.
  • Support senior scientists in data analysis, interpretation of results, and preparation of research reports or presentations.
  • Ensure all laboratory practices adhere to biosafety, chemical safety, and waste management protocols.
  • Manage inventory of consumables and assist with ordering laboratory supplies to ensure uninterrupted research activities.
  • Participate in team discussions, contribute ideas for experiment design, and collaborate closely with cross-functional research teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to cell culture, molecular techniques, or equipment performance.
  • Conduct routine laboratory procedures including protein analysis (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western blot).
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and research data following laboratory documentation standards.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers to analyze results and contribute to research reports or presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to all laboratory safety guidelines and biosafety regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in cell culture techniques (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of molecular biology tools and methods.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques, lab documentation, and GLP standards.
  • Ability to follow experimental protocols with precision and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative research environment.
