Laboratory – Junior Biotechnologist – seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Biotechnologist to join a laboratory research team. The successful candidate will support experimental and technical work in molecular biology, microbiology, and cell biology projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in an advanced biotech laboratory environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory experiments under the supervision of senior scientists, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and handle samples for DNA/RNA extraction, protein purification, and microbiological assays.
  • Conduct routine techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometry, ELISA, and cell culture.
  • Assist in media preparation, reagent formulation, sterilization, and equipment calibration.
  • Record, compile, and analyze data in laboratory notebooks and digital formats, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
  • Support research and development (R&D) projects related to genetic engineering, diagnostics, and bio-manufacturing.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and inventory.
  • Participate in quality control testing and documentation for raw materials, in-process samples, and final products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA/QC, production, and technical support.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
  • Postgraduate diploma or coursework in laboratory techniques or applied biosciences is an advantage.
  • 0–2 years of experience working in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences laboratory.
  • Internship or project experience in a wet lab setting is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with basic molecular biology and microbiology lab techniques.
  • Knowledge of biosafety procedures, sterile techniques, and laboratory hygiene.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow scientific protocols precisely.
