A leading premium food retailer in Supermarket is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join its Food Manufacturing Division. This role plays a critical part in ensuring effective implementation of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), maintaining product quality, and supporting compliance with HACCP, GMP, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly organized, and capable of working cross-functionally to uphold food safety, hygiene, and quality across factory operations.

The QA Officer reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager (Factories) and works closely with QA Technologists, QC Officers, Production Teams, and Hygiene Personnel to ensure consistent food safety and quality performance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify production processes, critical control points (CCPs), hygiene practices, and overall FSMS compliance across the factory floor.
  • Ensure adherence to HACCP plans, GMP standards, food safety regulations, and internal quality procedures.
  • Investigate quality deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct food safety, hygiene, and quality training sessions, including induction programs for new employees and refresher training for existing staff.
  • Participate in internal audits, external audits, mock recalls, and health & safety risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with QA Technologists and production teams to review and update SOPs, process flowcharts, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including inspection records, food safety reports, cleaning schedules, audit findings, non-conformance logs, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and third-party service providers to address quality concerns and ensure alignment with company QA standards.
  • Support the Hygiene Team in the absence of the Hygiene Supervisor and actively promote food safety culture and awareness initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit weekly quality reports, KPIs, and contribute to continuous improvement projects in product and process quality.
  • Mentor and guide QC Officers while supporting quality initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in a Quality Assurance role within food manufacturing or FMCG production.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSMS, food safety legislation, and risk assessment methodologies.
