QHSE Executive wanted at a leading chain of Hypermarket and Grocery retailers in Dubai and Sharjah UAE with the following,

Job Responsibilities

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Compliance

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain all QHSE policies, procedures, and standards across the hypermarket in alignment with UAE regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Sharjah Municipality, UAE Food Code, and other regulatory guidelines for food retail operations.
  • Lead the implementation of HACCP, ISO 22000, and related food safety management systems.

Food Safety & Hygiene Management

  • Conduct daily hygiene inspections covering fresh food sections, receiving areas, chillers, freezers, storage zones, and food handling areas.
  • Monitor food temperature logs, expiry control, display conditions, and product rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Verify proper labelling, traceability, and documentation of all fresh and processed food products.
  • Train staff on food handling, personal hygiene, cleaning protocols, and sanitation requirements.
  • Inspect the store environment for safety hazards and ensure compliance with workplace HSE norms.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure safety of workers, customers, and contractors by enforcing PPE use, emergency preparedness, fire safety, and accident prevention practices.

Audit & Documentation

  • Prepare for internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections, third-party audits, and corporate QHSE reviews.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records such as hygiene checklists, pest control reports, waste management logs, incident reports, and training records.
  • Perform supplier audits and evaluate the quality of incoming products during receiving.
  • Monitor cleaning and sanitation schedules for all departments, including produce, meat, fish, bakery, and deli areas.
  • Work closely with store managers, department heads, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and non-conformities.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food quality, customer safety, and operational efficiency.

Pest Control & Waste Management

  • Coordinate pest control services and ensure preventive measures are followed across all zones.
  • Oversee waste segregation, safe disposal practices, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000, Food Safety Level 3/4 preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in QHSE, Food Safety, or Hygiene roles within hypermarkets, supermarkets, retail food chains, or catering environments in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE Food Safety Laws, Dubai Municipality requirements, ESMA regulations, and local inspection procedures.
  • Proficient in HACCP implementation, risk assessment, and QHSE documentation.
  • Familiar with food storage conditions, temperature control, product handling, and retail food operations.
  • Skilled in preparing audit reports, CAPA plans, SOPs, and hygiene manuals.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to guide multicultural staff.
  • Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple stores within Dubai and Sharjah.
  • Strong teamwork and coordination with operations, procurement, warehouse, and quality departments.
