QC Microbiologist wanted for a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in KIZAD, Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in pharmaceutical QC microbiology laboratories, with strong expertise in microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, sterility assurance, and GMP-compliant laboratory documentation.
This role is critical in ensuring that all pharmaceutical products, manufacturing environments, and utilities meet microbiological quality standards in accordance with GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological analysis and quality control testing of pharmaceutical products, including tablets, capsules, injectables, syrups, transdermal patches, and other dosage forms.
- Conduct routine and specialized microbiological tests such as:
- Microbial Limit Test (MLT)
- Sterility Testing
- Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET/LAL)
- Environmental Monitoring (EM)
- Bioburden Testing
- Carry out water sampling and microbiological testing for purified water, potable water, and water for injection systems.
- Monitor and assess controlled manufacturing environments, cleanrooms, and aseptic areas through environmental monitoring programs.
- Support aseptic process monitoring and ensure adherence to contamination control procedures.
- Execute microbiological method validation and verification activities in compliance with pharmacopeial and regulatory standards.
- Perform equipment calibration, qualification, and validation of microbiology laboratory instruments.
- Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation in accordance with GMP/GLP and data integrity requirements.
- Investigate and document Out of Specification (OOS) results, laboratory deviations, and non-conformances.
- Participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) investigations and implementation.
- Ensure proper laboratory housekeeping, media preparation, culture maintenance, and inventory management.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality compliance initiatives.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Microbiology
- Experience in a Pharmaceutical QC Microbiology Laboratory.
- Strong practical knowledge of:
- Sterility Testing
- BET / LAL Testing
- Environmental Monitoring
- Water Testing
- Microbial Limit Testing
- Aseptic Techniques
- Good understanding of GMP, GLP, Data Integrity, and Pharmaceutical Regulatory Guidelines.
- Experience handling OOS investigations, deviations, change controls, and CAPA.
- Familiarity with pharmacopeial standards such as USP, EP, BP, and IP is preferred.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Immediate joiners or candidates on short notice preferred.
- Prior experience in sterile/injectable pharmaceutical manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
