A Sustainable development industry in Dubai, UAE, is looking for a Microbiologist Laboratory Technician with the following. This role involves the handling, processing, and analysis of produced water samples, preparation of sample collection kits for clients, laboratory inventory control, and strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Job Responsibilities

  • Handle, process, and analyze produced water samples in accordance with approved laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during sample handling, testing, and disposal.
  • Conduct gram-staining procedures and accurately interpret microbial morphology and results.
  • Perform and monitor growth tube experiments to evaluate microbial activity and document observations clearly.
  • Apply microbiology and basic biochemistry principles to conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests.
  • Utilize light and digital microscopy to analyze microbial samples.
  • Capture high-quality digital images and maintain accurate visual documentation for reporting and traceability.
  • Ensure microscopes and related laboratory equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, and calibrated.

Laboratory Preparation & Inventory Management

  • Accurately prepare stock solutions following standardized laboratory protocols and monitor solutions to ensure freedom from contamination.
  • Assemble and prepare sample collection kits for clients, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and clear instructions.
  • Assist with laboratory inventory tracking, stock replenishment, and proper storage of consumables and reagents.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain precise laboratory records, test results, logs, and reports in line with quality control and accreditation requirements.
  • Follow all laboratory safety guidelines, including proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of biological and chemical materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Group, Company, Industry, National, and International standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Actively contribute to best practices in microbiology and laboratory operations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and maintain regular reports to update the Laboratory Manager on out-of-range (OOR) results and project status.
  • Assist with method development, troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Receive and implement constructive feedback to enhance laboratory techniques, efficiency, and overall performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Laboratory Technician I:
    Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Laboratory Technician II:
    Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with minimum 4 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Laboratory Technician III:
    Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with minimum 8 years of relevant laboratory experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in aseptic techniques and microbiological testing.
  • Proficiency in gram-stain techniques and interpretation of microbial structures.
  • Experience with digital microscopy imaging and microbial documentation.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and ability to troubleshoot common equipment issues.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality control systems and documentation practices.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow protocols accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
