A leading catering and food production company in Dubai, UAE is seeking a Food Safety Internal Auditor – Catering Operations to evaluate operational performance, strengthen food safety systems, and ensure compliance across large-scale food production and catering facilities.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining high standards of food safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and production quality within catering kitchens, central production units, and food manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will conduct systematic internal audits of food production processes, hygiene standards, documentation systems, and operational controls to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
The Food Safety Internal Auditor will collaborate closely with quality assurance teams, production managers, and food safety leadership to ensure that all catering operations comply with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 food safety management systems, and UAE food safety regulations. The role will also support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational risks, minimizing food waste, and improving process efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct Food Safety and Operational Audits
- Perform comprehensive internal audits of catering kitchens, food production lines, and manufacturing processes to evaluate compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assess the implementation and effectiveness of food safety management systems including HACCP, GMP, hygiene practices, and sanitation protocols.
- Review production workflows, raw material handling, food processing procedures, and batch production activities to ensure operational efficiency and product consistency.
- Monitor ingredient utilization, inventory controls, waste management practices, and production yield to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Verify Compliance with Food Safety Standards
- Ensure all operations meet international and local food safety standards, including HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 22000, and Dubai Municipality food safety regulations.
- Inspect temperature control systems, allergen management procedures, sanitation programs, and hygiene compliance across catering operations.
Review Production Documentation -Food Safety Internal Auditor
- Examine production logs, batch records, cleaning schedules, monitoring reports, traceability documentation, and quality control records to verify accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure that documentation meets audit requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal quality assurance standards.
Identify Risks and Non-Conformities
- Detect operational risks, process inefficiencies, food safety hazards, and non-compliance issues within catering production environments.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying causes of operational failures, quality deviations, or food safety incidents.
Prepare Audit Reports and Recommendations
- Develop detailed audit reports outlining findings, compliance gaps, risk assessments, and corrective action recommendations.
- Present audit findings to senior management, quality assurance teams, and operational leadership to support decision-making and process improvements.
Support Corrective and Preventive Actions
- Collaborate with production managers, food safety officers, and quality assurance personnel to implement corrective actions that address identified audit findings.
- Monitor progress of corrective actions and verify successful implementation during follow-up audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement programs focused on operational excellence, food safety culture, and process optimization.
- Recommend improvements to workflow systems, food safety controls, sanitation programs, and documentation processes.
Food Safety Audit Documentation
- Maintain accurate audit records, inspection reports, compliance documentation, and corrective action logs.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and integrity of operational and production data.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of experience in internal auditing, operational auditing, food manufacturing audits, or catering quality assurance.
- Experience working in food manufacturing, catering operations, hospitality food production, or FMCG manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge – Food Safety Internal Auditor
- Strong understanding of food safety management systems, including HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, food hygiene standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations and Dubai Municipality food safety guidelines is advantageous
