A growing food manufacturing company in Umm Al Quwain is looking for a Food Quality Controller Trainee to join the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Food Safety who are looking to start their careers in food quality control, HACCP compliance, and food safety management within the food manufacturing industry.

The selected candidate will support the quality team in monitoring food safety standards, performing quality inspections, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, and hygiene regulations throughout the food production process — from raw material receiving to finished product dispatch.

This position provides hands-on exposure to food quality assurance systems, food safety monitoring, sanitation audits, production quality checks, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

Quality Inspection and Product Monitoring

  • Assist in conducting quality inspections and analysis of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company quality standards and food safety regulations.
  • Perform final product inspection and approval before dispatch, ensuring products meet food quality specifications, packaging requirements, and labeling standards.
  • Monitor the core temperature of food products, ensuring that temperatures are maintained between 0°C to 4°C during receiving, processing, storage, and transportation to maintain food safety and product freshness.
  • Support the implementation of quality control checkpoints during different stages of the production process.

Raw Material and Supplier Quality Checks

  • Inspect and evaluate incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and reject non-conforming raw materials that fail to meet the required specifications and immediately report discrepancies to the concerned department.
  • Maintain proper records of incoming material inspections and supplier quality checks.

Food Safety and Hygiene Monitoring

  • Conduct routine hygiene and sanitation audits across production areas, processing zones, storage facilities, and employee hygiene practices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, food safety protocols, pest control programs, and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor cleaning schedules, sanitation procedures, and hygiene practices within the production environment.
  • Assist in maintaining high food safety standards in compliance with UAE regulatory authorities and internal company policies.

Equipment and Facility Monitoring

  • Support the supervision and monitoring of food processing machinery and production equipment to ensure proper functionality and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor the performance of chillers, freezers, cold storage units, refrigerated vehicles, and other temperature-controlled equipment to maintain proper cold chain management.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or operational issues that may affect food safety, product quality, or production efficiency.

Production Process Monitoring

  • Observe and monitor the production process at various stages to ensure compliance with HACCP plans, quality assurance procedures, and food safety standards.
  • Assist in identifying potential quality risks, contamination hazards, or process deviations within the production line.
  • Provide guidance and support to the production team regarding quality control requirements and food safety practices.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate quality control documentation, inspection reports, monitoring records, and audit checklists.
  • Ensure all quality assurance records and documentation are properly logged, controlled, and stored according to company procedures.
  • Assist with internal quality audits and food safety inspections as required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement within production and quality systems to enhance food safety and product quality.
  • Provide suggestions to improve quality control procedures, operational efficiency, and compliance with international food safety standards.
  • Support the quality assurance team in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when quality issues are identified.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
    • Food Technology
    • Microbiology
    • Food Safety
    • Biotechnology
    • Food Science or related field
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of food safety systems, HACCP principles, GMP, and sanitation standards is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor food quality and safety parameters.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a food production and manufacturing environment.
  • Freshers or candidates on Spouse Visa.
  • Candidates currently residing in Umm Al Quwain or nearby Emirates will be given preference.
