Job Responsibilities
As a Food Quality Control Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the quality and safety of food products served in our corporate catering operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, kitchen premises, equipment, and food production processes to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor all stages of food preparation and service to verify adherence to HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food safety regulations.
- Perform routine sampling and testing of food items, ingredients, and surfaces for microbiological and chemical safety.
- Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to implement corrective actions for any identified non-conformities.
- Ensure that storage, transportation, and serving practices meet set quality parameters, including temperature control and contamination prevention.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all quality control checks, audits, and training sessions.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external inspections from health authorities or third-party auditors.
- Train and support catering staff on hygiene protocols, allergen controls, and proper documentation procedures.
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food safety manuals as required.
- Investigate customer complaints related to food safety or quality and implement preventive measures.
Job Qualifications -Food Quality Control Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Quality Control or Food Safety role within the corporate catering industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and local UAE food safety regulations.
- Experience with food sampling, laboratory testing, and quality assurance documentation.
- Familiarity with auditing processes and the ability to handle inspections from health authorities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to train and guide kitchen and service staff.
- High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to work in fast-paced catering environments.
- Certifications in PIC (Person In Charge), Basic Food Safety, or equivalent – preferred.
