Job Responsibilities

Conduct microbiological analysis of water samples to identify and quantify microbial contamination.
Perform routine tests such as bacterial counts, coliform testing, and Legionella detection.
Develop and implement microbiological monitoring programs to ensure compliance with local and international water quality standards.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure proper documentation of test results.
Investigate microbial trends in treated water and recommend corrective actions to improve water quality.
Provide technical support for the implementation of water treatment processes and disinfection protocols.
Prepare detailed reports on microbiological findings and communicate results to internal teams and clients.
Conduct research on new microbiological treatment methods and advancements in water treatment technology.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines in all laboratory activities.
Train and mentor junior staff on microbiological testing methods and laboratory best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a microbiology role, preferably in water treatment or a related industry.
In-depth knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and standards for water quality, such as ISO 17025 and WHO guidelines.
Familiarity with waterborne pathogens and treatment processes for microbial contamination.
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, and microscopes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of UAE regulatory standards for water treatment and environmental compliance is a plus.
Certifications in microbiological testing or water treatment processes are an advantage.
