An FMCG Food Unit in Bengaluru, Karnataka is hiring a Senior Quality Executive with the following:
Job Responsibilities
1. Supplier & Manufacturer Management
- Follow up with third-party manufacturers for pre-assessment of facilities through Quality & Food Safety Audits.
- Ensure food safety implementation at all supplier locations by monitoring compliance with FSSC 22000, FSSAI, and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers for raw material development, specification approvals, and quality compliance.
- Conduct audits, travel to facilities, and ensure supplier adherence to product standards.
2. Product Development & Innovation (NPD)
- Collaborate with 3P suppliers to develop prototypes, conduct trials, and optimize product formulations for taste, texture, and shelf-life.
- Handle NPD projects by following up on samples, conducting sensory evaluations, coordinating tastings, and preparing technical dossiers.
- Support procurement, manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams for successful product launches.
- Provide technical insights, claims, and product storytelling to business teams.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Oversee quality control processes from raw material receipt to finished goods release.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Consumer Protection Act).
- Conduct quality benchmarking against competitors to identify product improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with designers to finalize labels as per legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Food Safety & Risk Management
- Conduct and document mock recalls as per defined frequency to ensure traceability and recall readiness.
- Perform root cause analysis for deviations and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain documentation and reporting as per Food Safety Management Systems.
- Support regional QA teams in implementing QHSE requirements during product launches.
Job Qualifications
- Strong understanding of NPD (New Product Development), FMCG processing, private labeling, and vendor audits.
- Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance – FSSAI, Legal Metrology Act, Consumer Protection Act.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Process-oriented with excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude with a focus on teamwork and business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with procurement, QA, marketing, sales, and suppliers.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision and capable of supporting cross-functional projects.
- Education: BE / B.Tech / B.Sc / M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Processing Engineering, or Agriculture (UG/PG in Food-related fields).
- Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of direct working experience in the Food Industry, preferably in FMCG, private label, or QHSE roles.
