 An international group offering a full range of innovative products, raw materials and application expertise to the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors is hiring R and D Specialist with Food Science experience:

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and assisting the R&D Manager in new product development.
  • Supporting product innovation.
  • Evaluating current and alternative food ingredients.
  • Supporting production team in recipe line adaptations and new product commissioning.
  • Running applications and baking tests for finished goods in the R&D lab.
  • Participating on cross-functional teams to ensure effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Executing product recipes and conducting a sensory evaluation of NPD.
  • Responsible for the sample preparation for customers & internal technical validation.
  • Evaluating current and alternative food ingredients and products used in the development and production of finished goods; to maintain compliance with specifications and standards that have been established during the test and trial period of new products.
  • Provide necessary technical information on products to customers.
  • Execute lab QA tests for all incoming raw materials & finished goods in the QC lab.
  • Execute spontaneous line quality checks.
  • Analysing quality concerns identified via product inspection and from field service operations while coordinating and producing daily, weekly and monthly quality control reports.
  • Implementing the set quality policies and standards.
  • Verify and validate implementation of quality and food safety manual.
  • Prepare Technical Data Sheets.
  • Monitor supplier performance and quality/food safety performance.
  • Visit the customers when needed to test the fillings (samples) together to know and understand more about their requirements.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of R&D experience, preferably from the F&B manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Analytical with very good communication/commercial skills.
  • Has a strong knowledge and/or interest for food ingredients and applications.
