Quality Controller – Co-op vacancy at a leading Co-op retail chain in England / Manchester- UK with the following :
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all Co-op Own Brand chilled products meet internal standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate product quality, highlighting areas of concern and implementing corrective actions.
- Investigate non-conformance issues, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to suppliers and internal departments such as Product Development, Technical, and Buying.
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues promptly and drive long-term improvements in processes and performance.
- Analyse product complaints and customer feedback to identify recurring trends and recommend preventive measures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and suppliers to maintain open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Quality Controller role within the food retail, food production, or food manufacturing sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge suppliers and internal teams when necessary.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work across multiple quality management systems.
- A high level of attention to detail, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
