Quality Control Assistant vacancy at a leading Fruits and Vegetables processing company in Dubai UAE

Job Responsibilites

  • Incoming Goods Inspection:
    Examine all incoming fruits and vegetables for freshness, overall quality, ripeness, and compliance with internal quality specifications and food safety standards.
  • Stage-Wise Quality Checks:
    Perform regular quality assessments during receiving, storage, and dispatch stages to ensure the product maintains its quality throughout the supply chain.
  • Deviation & Non-Conformance Reporting:
    Identify and document any instances of spoilage, contamination, or non-compliance. Promptly report issues to the QC Supervisor and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Sorting, Grading, and Sampling:
    Participate in the sorting and grading of fresh produce based on criteria such as size, color, texture, and external defects. Collect samples for quality testing and documentation.
  • Monitoring Storage Conditions:
    Regularly monitor and record temperature and humidity levels in storage areas to ensure optimal conditions for product preservation in line with HACCP guidelines.
  • Hygiene and Compliance:
    Maintain high standards of cleanliness in quality control zones. Support the implementation of HACCP and ISO 22000 food safety standards in day-to-day operations.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Assist with sample labeling, QC data entry, and preparation of daily quality control reports to ensure accurate record-keeping for traceability and audits.
  • Stock Rotation & Shelf-Life Monitoring:
    Ensure proper application of FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) inventory rotation practices. Check products for shelf-life adherence and packaging integrity.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination:
    Work closely with the warehouse and procurement teams to share feedback on product quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Qualifcations

  • Educational Background:
    High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. A Diploma in Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Quality Control role, preferably within the fresh produce or fruits and vegetables sector.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Basic understanding of food safety principles, hygiene protocols, and proper food handling practices.
    • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and ISO practices is preferred.
    • Ability to use MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word, for reporting purposes.
  • Availability:
    Candidates who are available to join immediately will be given priority.
