A confectionery bakery chain in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Quality Control and Food Safety Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilities

1. Quality Control Expertise
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of food quality standards and best practices specific to biscuit manufacturing. Ensure that all products adhere to internal quality specifications and customer requirements by implementing effective quality control procedures throughout the production process.

2. Safety Management
Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to identify safety hazards and implement proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries on the factory floor.

3. Risk Assessment & Corrective Action
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential food safety and quality hazards within the production process. Initiate root cause analysis for any non-conformities and develop corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate risks and maintain product integrity.

4. Product Inspection & Testing
Oversee the inspection of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure consistency, taste, texture, and appearance meet required standards. Perform routine sampling and laboratory testing using standardized methods to verify product compliance.

5. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure that all production practices align with national and international food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, ISO 22000, and local regulatory requirements. Stay updated with changes in legislation and industry best practices to maintain compliance at all times.

6. Staff Training & Development
Design and deliver training programs for production staff focused on quality assurance protocols, food safety practices, and hygiene standards. Promote a quality-first culture by enhancing employee awareness and accountability.

7. Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of quality inspections, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions. Ensure records are readily available for internal audits and external regulatory inspections.

8. Cross-functional Communication
Liaise effectively with production, procurement, R&D, and senior management teams to address quality issues, implement improvements, and support new product development from a quality assurance perspective.

9. Technical Proficiency
Operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment relevant to biscuit production. Utilize digital tools and quality management software for monitoring data, tracking performance metrics, and generating reports.

10. Attention to Detail
Exhibit a meticulous approach to identifying even the smallest deviations in product quality or process parameters. Strive for continuous improvement by analyzing trends, customer feedback, and process data to uphold product excellence.
