Quality Assurance Controller position for a Meal Plan & Dietary Services in Abu Dhabi UAE with the following Food Science or Food Safety experience:

Responsibilities

  • Raw Material Inspections: Inspect incoming raw ingredients daily, verifying freshness, storage conditions, expiration dates, and supplier compliance with agreed product specifications for diverse meal plans.
  • Supplier Quality Monitoring: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure that all ingredients meet contractual quality requirements and regulatory food safety standards.
  • Nutritional Compliance: Work alongside Nutritionists and Chefs to confirm that ingredients and finished meal plans adhere to approved recipes and nutritional guidelines for specific dietary needs.
  • Food Safety Assurance: Ensure that all handling, processing, packaging, and storage procedures comply with local and international food safety standards (HACCP, ISO, and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority guidelines).
  • Issue Identification & Resolution: Identify non-conformities, product defects, or process deviations and report these to management with actionable solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate QA documentation, inspection logs, and audit reports. Prepare periodic quality performance reports for internal reviews and regulatory audits.
  • Traceability & Recall Readiness: Develop and maintain traceability systems to quickly identify and address the source of any quality lapse or customer complaint. Lead investigations into product recalls, if needed.
  • CAPA Implementation: Coordinate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement and avoid recurrence of quality issues.
  • Training & Awareness: Support the training of kitchen, packing, and delivery staff on food safety practices, hygiene protocols, and QA procedures to maintain the highest quality standards at every stage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep updated on relevant Abu Dhabi and UAE food safety regulations. Ensure full compliance with local laws, certifications, and inspections by relevant authorities.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance within the food service industry — preferably in catering, meal plan services, or dietary meal production.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety management systems, HACCP principles, GMPs, and local regulatory standards (ADFCA).
  • Strong understanding of special dietary requirements, allergens, and cross-contamination controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant training or certifications in Quality Assurance or Food Safety (HACCP Level 3/4, ISO 22000) are highly desirable.
