An e-commerce company in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Quality Associate with the following raw material Inspection experience:

Responsibilities

Raw Material Inspection:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials for key SKUs based on SKU specifications and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications for raw materials.

Pre-Pack Inspection:

  • Perform random inspections of pre-packaged items before dispatch to NIM Dark stores, ensuring adherence to quality specification guidelines.
  • Check key parameters, including:
  • Country of Origin: Verify that items match the country of origin listed on barcode labels and the app.
  • Item Count: Ensure the number of pieces matches the country of origin listed on barcode labels and the app.
  • Packaging Integrity: Assess the packaging for material standardization and adequacy to protect products from external damage and maintain freshness.
  • Hygiene: Inspect totes, delivery vehicles, and manpower for hygiene standards (hairnets, gloves, etc.).
  • Temperature Control: Monitor the temperature of pack-houses and delivery vehicles.

Quality Associate:

  • Review customer complaints and flag items with vendors.
  • Attend vendor quality meetings, reviewing and aligning product and seasonality changes.
  • Ensure the physical appearance of products matches the information provided on the platform and flag discrepancies to the commercial team.
  • Assess product quality based on:
  • Outer Appearance: Check for freshness, absence of insects and worms, mechanical damages, bruising, dust, shape, size, color, infestation, ripeness level, and firmness.
  • Weight Verification: Ensure pre-packs match the weight claimed on labels.
  • Odor: Verify products are free from off or foul smells indicating spoilage or contamination.
  • Internal Deviation: Evaluate sweetness, brix level, maturity, and sensory characteristics.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, or the general public.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills to achieve results.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer skills and experience in writing reports.
  • Adaptability: Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and accommodate flexibility in the work schedule.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in laboratory analysis and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Reading Skills: Must be able to read and interpret basic written instructions and perform tasks and projects derived from written instructions.
